Discussing Tobacco: The Value of Family Conversations

Presented in collaboration with Philly Family Pride and Bradbury-Sullivan Center on December 3rd, 2020. Tobacco use rates are higher among all LGBTQ community youth currently use electronic vapor products more often than their heterosexual counterparts. Thankfully, LGBTQ-led families and LGBTQ parents can play a major role in ending this health disparity by engaging in family discussions on the topic of tobacco and vaping and through an adequate knowledge of the resources for LGBTQ smoke-free lifestyles. This workshop focuses on the individual change that these families and/or parents can enact ultimately leading to change within the greater LGBTQ community.
