When science meets creativity: TuberKiller | My PhD at the Institut Pasteur

🎶 When science meets creativity, you get TuberKiller: a rap you don’t want to miss! #MyPhDattheInstitutPasteur In this new episode of the My PhD at the Institut Pasteur series, meet Yaëlle Wormser, a doctoral student in microbiology who turns her thesis into rap to share her research on tuberculosis, a disease that still causes over 10 million cases worldwide each year. 🎯 Her project: identifying new compounds that can inhibit the DNA gyrase of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, a key target to fight drug-resistant forms of the disease. 🧪 To do this, Yaëlle uses a non-pathogenic model bacterium (Corynebacterium glutamicum), observes the effects of these compounds using fluorescence microscopy, then analyzes them with cryo-electron microscopy to visualize their action at the atomic scale. 🎶 The result: a 3-minute original track, TuberKiller, combining scientific rigor and musical creativity to make research resonate differently.
