Mayor Harrell unveils initiative to improve Chinatown-International District

Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell unveiled a new initiative to improve safety and revitalize the economy in the Chinatown-International District (CID) on Wednesday. The initiative specifically addresses the Chinatown, Japantown, and Little Saigon neighborhoods. The city is partnering with several businesses and organizations, including The Asian American Foundation (TAAF), Amazon, and the Chinatown International District Business Improvement Area (CIDBIA) for Chinatown-International District (C-ID) Ambassadors Program, which will launch on June 1. The program is modeled after other ambassador programs such as the Downtown Seattle Association MID Ambassadors, Ballard Alliance Ambassadors, and the city’s Downtown Activation Team.
