High Cup Nick Fell Race | Dufton Village | Is this the UK’s most stunning race? | Fell Running

High Cup Nick is a dramatic and stunning Amphitheatre of volcanic rock formed around 20,000 years ago during the last ice age. It is located in the North Pennines Area of outstanding natural beauty near Dufton, where the race starts and finishes. The race is organised by the village hall, which also acts as a base for registration, and hosts a selection of post race refreshments including some hearty, home made soup at the finish. The route passes up the centre of the amphitheater, across moorland bogs, streams & a boulder field, before traversing the ‘Nick’ at the far end. Following the difficult climb it’s a fast, technical descent and the leading into local farmers meadow land back to the village.
