The shallows are full of life, with grey mullets returning in large numbers and predators often following close behind. Conditions look great, and I’m hoping for an exciting mix of action and variety. 🔱 The fish activity looks strong from the very first dives. Grey mullets move confidently through the seagrass meadows, and I manage to land a couple of quick catches. Soon, though, the fish start acting nervous, a sure sign that predators might be around. I switch my focus to ambushing bluefish, and before long, a small school appears. I take a clean shot and land my first bluefish of the day. After a few more dives, another bluefish comes weaving through the rocks, and a precise shot adds a second one to the catch. 🐟 Besides the predators, there are also plenty of large flathead grey mullets, one of my favorites. I line up a long shot at one, but it slips away just before I can secure it. Between dives, I spot a small octopus resting on the sand. As the fish activity starts to slow down, I take one last grey mullet and wrap up the first day of this productive dive. 🌊 The next day, I can’t resist returning for another round. This time, I enter from a different point, hoping to find the fish faster. Almost immediately, I spot two bluefish in the distance, a promising sign. After a few long ambushes, I get a solid shot on one and bring it up quietly. The shallows are much murkier today, but I still manage to catch two beautiful flathead grey mullets with long, accurate shots. The fish in my ambushes remain restless, though no more predators appear, so I finish the session with one final grey mullet. 🔥 Another amazing spearfishing adventure comes to an end. Autumn truly brings the shallows to life, and the sea was generous once again.
