Nipple Adenoma (Erosive Adenomatosis of the Nipple)

Nipple adenoma (also known as erosive adenomatosis of the nipple and by several other names) is an uncommon benign lesion that usually presents as a scaly often ulcerated nipple, usually in middle aged women. Clinically, it can mimic Paget disease of the nipple or eczematous nipple dermatitis. It is important to distinguish this entity from infiltrating syringomatous adenoma of the nipple (ISAN), which is locally aggressive; it has a similar name but different histologic features.
