This Free AFuzion & Solid Sands Technical Training Webinar teaches Safe & Secure use of the Standard C Library. All software engineers know the Standard C Library is underpinning much of our computing infrastructure. It is the very foundation on which every related library is built. The standard C library is typically provided together with the compilation platform, almost baked-in. That is why it is easy to overlook when it comes to safety and security. This Webinar by AFuzion & SolidSands provides necessary details, tips, and best practices to safely and securely use YOUR standard C Library. Any usage of the standard library means that it becomes part of your application and so, should be scrutinized as carefully as your own code. Some options available for the standard library are: Using the library included with the compiler; Using a certified library; Using a third-party, possibly open source, library; or Rolling your own (yes that is possible and it has been done!) In this webinar we discuss the pros and cons of each option above. No matter what your library of choice is, it is good to understand what is required to verify that the standard library is safe to use. The two main verification techniques for a standard C library are requirements based analysis and MC/DC coverage. A very good specification exists for the C library in the form of the ISO C language standard, which includes the library specification. It is important to realize that ISO programming language standards are rare and almost non-existent for modern programming languages. This is one big argument in favor of C. Yet, when we look into the standard C library specification, it is not exactly a list of requirements. We will demonstrate with examples how to get from the ISO document to practical requirements. This important webinar will explain all of the above to improve the quality, safety, AND security of your libraries. _______________________________________________________________________ Useful Links Solid Sands: https://solidsands.com/ SuperGuard: https://solidsands.com/superguard Free technical whitepapers are available at https://afuzion.com/do-178c-top-mista... and also at https://solidsands.com/wp-content/upl...
