Instant appam made with semolina and fresh vegetables. Watch this video to find out how to make this recipe. JAIN VEGETABLE APPAM Ingredients ½ medium green capsicum, finely chopped 2-3 tablespoons sweet corn kernels, crushed 1 small tomato, seeded and finely chopped 1 cup semolina 1½ cups + 2-3 tablespoons buttermilk 1-2 teaspoons green chillies, crushed 1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves Salt to taste 1 teaspoon fruit salt Oil for drizzling ½ cup mayonnaise 2 teaspoons tomato ketchup A fresh coriander sprig for garnishing Method 1. Take semolina in a bowl. Add 1½ cups buttermilk and mix to make a thick mixture. Set aside for 30 minutes. 2. Add capsicum, corn kernels, tomato, green chillies and coriander leaves and mix. Add salt, 2-3 tablespoons buttermilk and fruit salt and mix well. 3. Heat a non-stick appam pan. Put 1 tablespoon of semolina-vegetable mixture into the appam moulds and drizzle some oil on top, cover and cook from one side till golden. Flip the appam, drizzle some oil on top, cover and cook till golden. 4. Take mayonnaise in another bowl. Add tomato ketchup and mix well. Transfer in a serving bowl and garnish with a coriander sprig. 5. Serve hot with tomato mayonnaise.
