In this video I show you how I removed and disassembled the rear shocks on my 2005 Acura TSX. It takes more effort to replace the rear shocks compared to the front shocks. If you are looking for OEM parts I recommend www.acuraoemparts.com First Generation ACURA TSX OEM Service Manual https://drive.google.com/file/d/1yuT-... The rear seat removal may be a little different on the second generation TSX compared to this first generation. I reused the bump stop because its not cracked. I reused the metal damper plate because its in good condition (the threads on the top bolts are not stripped). I reused the top two mounting nuts because they're in good condition. I reused the upper and lower washer and sandwiches the two top bushings because they're in good condition. I purchased a new damper plate cushion, the rubber wears over time. I purchased new mounting plate bushings because they also wear out over time. I reused my H&R Springs (70k mi), but I think they are worn out. I have one side of the rear that's half an inch lower than the other side. I thought that replacing the shocks would fix that, nope. I'm going to check all the bushings on the arms for anything broken, if suspension looks good, I will buy Tein springs and see if that fixes the rear sag on one side. You might notice that the OEM diagram shows the dust cover going over the bump stop, but I put the bump stop on top of my improvised dust cover. I did that because the bump stop is snug on the shaft of the shock and when the dust cover is over the bump stop and the car bottoms out, the bump cover remains high on the shaft and the dust cover is lifted up and out of its place. In the bonus video clip at the end, I compared the new KYB shock to my old 10 year old Koni Sport shock. I compressed down both shocks 3 times before I recorded them. The Koni shock wasn't as bad as I thought. What that tells me is the front shocks get abused twice as much as the rear shocks because my front Koni shocks were worse than the rear Koni shocks after 5 years.
