Juniper Hill School in Buckinghamshire was intended to be a straightforward school. But with head teacher Alex Ferguson at the helm, it has quickly become something more – in Alex’s words – esoteric. Children paint on the walls, a ménage of 200 animals flutter and scarper, and the headstone of Sidney – the school’s much-missed crocodile – stands proud on the school lawn. Alex has recruited the parents to help with the classes, and they are all delighted to be involved. Juniper Hill is the place where your headmaster wrestles a caiman in the classroom, and the children are happy.
