Following up on our tectonic simulation, now we model the history of empires rising and falling on our generated worlds. I show what historical models I am basing this simulation off of, and walk through the justification of why those were selected. The end result is mostly based off the the work of Peter Turchin - integrating his meta-ethnic frontier theory, the concept of collective solidarity, and cultural group selection. For longer runs of both models check out this video: • 40 Minutes of Simulated Empires And here is the video explaining how the globe/terrain I am using here is generated: • Maps: Fractals, Tectonics and the Fourth D... The minute and a half tangent of trying to learn Arabic is sponsored by all the people that called me out for not looking up how to pronounce hnefatafl in the last video.
