The nature of Dr. Tina Montreuil’s clinical work, as well as her research and advocacy on the Mind and predictors associated to psychological resilience and well-being will be highlighted in her TEDx talk. Her speech aims to bring awareness to the notion of internalized beliefs about mental health/wellness, or stigma and its greater impact on accessing timely quality care – and the role of each and every one of us, in contributing collectively to improving or suppressing the well- being of all. Dr. Tina C. Montreuil is the director of Childhood Anxiety and Regulation of Emotions Laboratory C.A.R.E. Research Group, a Regular Investigator of the Research Unit of Children’s Psychosocial Maladjustment (GRIP), and a Full member of the McGill Centre for Research on Children and Families (CRCF). Montreuil's current research focuses on investigating the role of emotion regulation, attitudes, and beliefs on the intergenerational transmission mechanisms of emotion regulation. Montreuil’s work first began working on school-based mental health by focusing on the promotion of emotion regulation in students and teachers. Montreuil’s current work focuses on developing resilience and well-being in expectant parents through an intervention, Parents & Babies, which she has developed with a team of Canadian researchers. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
