Launch of Community-led action plans for Caldercruix, Greengairs, Plains and Upperton

Rural villages in North Lanarkshire launched their individual community action plans at an event in Airdrie on October 9th, 2019 at Gartlea Community Centre. The plans explain what the community’s priorities are for the next five years and highlight particular projects the community would like to work on together to improve their place. The plans can also be used as evidence by any community group seeking funding or by organisations who deliver services in that community. The action plans are the culmination of over 6 months of work by local steering groups in Upperton, Caldercruix, Greengairs and Plains, with detailed input from Steering Groups made up of local people. Supported by LEADER funded Community Action Lanarkshire, communities created tailored street surveys, held open drop-in sessions and detailed focus groups, all leading to the production of the Action Plans.
