I recently visited the Lee Miller exhibition at Tate Britain, and I left absolutely stunned. How did this woman, who documented World War Two with such power and made groundbreaking contributions to photography, receive so little recognition during her lifetime? I completed a Master's in fine art photography, and her name never came up in my classes. When I researched women in service during WWII for my own photography project, I had never seen her incredible images of Margaret Bourke-White, Anna Leska, or ATS officers. These photographs would have transformed my understanding of the subject. In this video, I'm sharing the lessons Lee Miller's work taught me about photography with intention, why her story matters, and what we can learn from her approach to documentary photography. If you're in Paris, the exhibition runs from April 3rd until at the Musée d'Art Moderne. CONNECT: Join the newsletter on Substack: https://rachelvogeleisen.substack.com...
