These are the Guardians of the Hillside in Colombia | UNDRR

🌿 In the hillsides of Manizales, Colombia, a group of women is leading the charge against disaster risks. Known as the "Guardians of the Hillside", these women from vulnerable communities are implementing nature-based solutions 🌱 to protect their homes from landslides. With training from local authorities, NGOs, and public utilities, they have not only stabilized the land but also empowered themselves as agents of change 💪. Over the years, this initiative has provided employment to more than 1,160 women, strengthened community resilience, and saved lives. 🌍 Delka Espinal, Representative of GeoHazards International in the Dominican Republic, shares how these success stories inspire disaster risk reduction efforts across Latin America and the Caribbean.
