Right down the street from our Dallas home is the Texas Ale Project, a veteran owned and operated craft brewery. Kimberly and I did not let the clouds above somber our desire for tasty suds. A good selection of games, with seating indoors and out, provided Kimberly and me with the perfect setting for a fun flight from Texas Ale Project. The first beer on our flight is named Fire Ant Funeral, a name like that got my attention immediately. The thought of coming together and raising a glass of cold beer to the last rites of such an evil creature sounds more like a party to me! Kimberly agreed, calling it a smooth and malty Amber Ale arriving at 6% ABV and 32 IBU’s. The second beer on our list was named after the cloth of Kimberly, Somethin Shady. The thought of pairing this porter with a steak came to Kimberly, after tasting notes of roasted coffee and chocolate. An excellent suggestion for this 5.5% ABV porter. The third was Tap Anniversary IPA, an American IPA with lots of hops and tropical fruits sitting at 7% ABV and 85 IBU’s. We learned that this IPA is not for the beer rookie, especially when bitterness is not your “thing”. Texas Ale Project barreled me up and spit me out their tap for our final beer, The Caucasian! This yummy White Russian Imperial Stout has vanilla, coffee and bourbon all done right. Kimberly enjoyed this too, although it might be a little too boozy for her palate at the moment. Circling back around, we wanted to thank Texas Ale Project for the flight of beer, and the service they give to our community and country. Cheers! Like this video? Have an idea for an episode?
