It was last here from 1777 to 1799 while Uranus was in Gemini and represents a 248 year cycle. It arrives in Aquarius on 23rd March 2023 at 5:13 a.m. and ends January 2044. The French Revolution started in 1789 with the overthrow of the monarchy and lasted until 1799. The Industrial Revolution was also picking up speed with steam power and transport along with the textile industry bringing new discoveries. When Pluto enters Aquarius we can expect the desire for reform and revolution to grow, especially in the areas of science and technology. Society will require change to give equality to all. We cannot talk about Pluto in Aquarius without including both Uranus in Gemini (scientific revolutions, let’s hope this time it is an ‘evolution’) from July 2025 and Neptune in Aries from 2025 (crusades for truth). Both of these planets will add another layer to the transformational effects of Pluto to our society. Pluto’s effects as a planet can be viewed as a metamorphosis much like the caterpillar turning into a butterfly- the process will not be easy. Pluto can take 13-32 years to go through a sign. Pluto is a word derived from Greek, pluton; which is wealth. In particular wealth of the underworld. So this includes mining for minerals, gangsters & psychological resources controlled by the mind. It rules the sign of Scorpio and the 8th house. Pluto emphasizes death and rebirth of the soul. It can be associated with healers, therapists & religious leaders, the guru may emerge. Pluto in Aquarius has the group with more power and great transformational qualities. It can produce some highly innovative, maybe radical thinkers or individuals who love freedom & want to change all of society. Change it…to what ‘it’ thinks that society should be- It is the sign of the humanitarian serving all mankind that does not translate into relating to ‘individuals’…unless, they are part of the group. It is concerned with the good for all the people. It does not let the past or tradition dictate their next steps. It is a fixed sign ruled by Saturn & Uranus. Moon, Chiron, Jupiter, Sun & Mercury all in Aries, Mars in Gemini squares the Sun but widely sextiles the Moon. Saturn is just in Pisces at 1 degree. Wonderfully, Pluto sextiles the Sun- powerful opportunities to express ourselves. In 2023 Pluto only gets to zero degrees Aquarius 21 minutes. In Feb 14, 2024 Mars conjuncts Pluto at 1 degree Aquarius, Venus follows suit. In June of 2025 Saturn will conjunct Neptune- a turning point of dissolving energies around religion where old structures are dissolved. July 2026 Neptune now in Aries sextiles Pluto and transiting Jupiter at 4 Leo opposes Pluto at 4 Aquarius. In July 2026 the transiting North Nodes will be in Aquarius and reach a conjunction with Pluto in Nov 2027- a new destiny path for mankind and society emerges. A Total Eclipse New Moon at 9 Leo on 2nd Aug 2027 opposes Pluto along with the Sun. A tense time but the Moon will trine Neptune & sextile Uranus bringing opportunities for easy change in spirituality. A New Moon eclipse at 6 Aquarius on 26 Jan 2028 conjuncts’ Pluto at 6 Aquarius- a whole new beginning is introduced. Mercury is in Aquarius as are the North Nodes at 2 Aquarius.
