However I indeed made a connection to a colonist named Harris in the backstory comic for dead space where I had told you all of my belief that Harris had been the one to dawn the regenerative abilities and the title of hunter within the necromorph ranks. However in the remake they indeed have confirmed this to be the case where by playing through one of the optional missions and investigating into the DNA of the hunters components you can see that he had in fact been the one to become the necromorph The Hunter.
