Luskentyre Beach is considered by many as the most beautiful beach in the United Kingdom. We can agree with that wholeheartedly. The huge stretch of great quality sand is located nearly at the center of the Isle of Harris, just opposite to the Isle of Taransay. On low tide it get seriously big - to the point where you can actually walk to the Seilebost Beach on the other side of the bay and the tidal rivers are forming picturesque serpentines in fine and soft sand. Water colour changes from turquoise to azure depending on weather and time of the day. But this beach is not only the original shape of water and sand, but also amazing views. To hills of northern Harris on one side, Taransay to front and other beaches of Harris on another side. In warm weather the whole beach looks like a Scottish paradise. Water is also relatively warm thanks to shallow waters around the beach (still cold for most people, but warm in comparison to other beaches of Lewis and Harris). There are two main car parks, one for a beach, which is rather small, and another one for near by cemetery, which is bigger, but it is being closed sometimes (and you can't park overnight there).
