Video Description Bullfighting is a big part of the southern Thai culture. There are 10 stadiums in Songkhla province, the biggest being in Rattaphum district where there is an international arena. I am told that bullfighting takes place in six southern provinces, but there is also bullfighting in some parts of northern Thailand. In addition, there are similar events in Laos, Burma and China. It is very different to Spanish style bullfighting. Matadors aren't involved and it's quite unusual for the bulls to get hurt. Bouts take place once a month at this stadium, but there is action every week in one or the other stadiums. The entrance fee is Bt500. The first bout starts at around 10:30 to 11:00 and the fights go on all day. There isn't an entry in Google Maps for the Hat Yai bullfighting stadium, but it's roughly at the following location, quite close to Hat Yai airport and the 56th Wing Royal Thai Airforce base. Google Maps: https://goo.gl/maps/siQ8o8wZ1bZz5Cj1A There used to be a stadium just behind the main airport road. I went there a couple of times probably 17 or 18 years ago, but I was told today that it has now closed and all bouts take place at the one I attended today. There is an international bullfighting arena in Rattaphum district, which is the biggest in Songkhla province and possibly the biggest in southern Thailand.
