Advanced Methods in Health Research by the PostDocs at MRC Biostatistics Unit, University of Cambridge This session highlights the breadth of biostatistics through two distinct but complementary talks by the postdocs on their ongoing work at the MRC Biostatistics Unit. One focuses on enhancing statistical tests in clinical trials while the other applies advanced methods in genetic epidemiology. The first presentation introduces alternative formulations of the Allocation Probability test statistic to enhance statistical power in response-adaptive clinical trials. The second presentation talks about sex and menopause specific variability in total cholesterol and its potential link to coronary artery disease. Both of these talks show the diversity of applications within biostatistics.
