For the full trail description: https://www.chamonix360.com/trails/le... This is one our favorite longer Hiking & Trail Running routes around Chamonix. Nearly the entire trail is located inside natural reserves and as such the environment is purely natural and completely stunning. Due to its lack of roads and easy access, it also means that these trails are a lot less crowded than those in and above the Chamonix Valley. The highlights include the Cascade du Berard, the Grotte a Farinet, the Refuge de la Pierre a Berard, the Col de Salenton, the Refuge Moede Anterne, Lac Pormenaz and the village of Servoz. If you find this route too long to tackle in a single outing then you could combine it with a stay either of the 2 refuges along the way. It could also be combined with a climb of Mont Buet (3096m). We got a video on that trail here: • Chamonix Hiking - Mont Buet (3098m) . The Col de Salenton tends to have a considerable amount of snow cover till pretty late in the season. As such we would recommend giving this a go from mid-June to October. Our website has links to resources for finding out the trail conditions on the date you plan to go. Dogs are strictly forbidden inside the natural reserves and we urge you to follow these rules. For a lot more Hiking & Trail Running around Chamonix: https://www.chamonix360.com/
