On February 28th, Russia invaded Ukraine, sparking fear and anxiety among many. This is the first time since World War II that a nation has reached out to take someone else’s territory on such a large scale. Tom Friedman's editorial in the New York Times explores the concept of “super powered individuals”, those with the capacity and technology to broadcast live events across the world. This has allowed us to observe first-hand the chaotic and destructive power of the individual ego, which is only amplified by the new energy entering our planet as we move closer to the center of our galaxy. In the face of these events, we must look to our faith for strength and solace. We must remember that our ultimate goal in life is to be close to God, and that He is always with us. Paramahansa Yogananda and other saints of all religions have humbly bowed before Him, and have reminded us to stay hopeful in times of darkness. The divine power of light will ultimately triumph over evil, but the path to this victory will be tumultuous.
