The Department of Women and Child Development has sought detailed reports from the Higher Education Department and the SC/ST & Minority Affairs Department to identify such students for the 2023–24 and 2024–25 financial years. As per official communication, “Any woman receiving ₹18,000 or more annually from central or state schemes will be disqualified from the Subhadra benefit.” The department clarified that educational scholarships, although meant strictly for academic use, will still count towards financial aid limits under this scheme. Subhadra Yojana provides direct financial support to women aged 21 to 60 in Odisha. Recent complaints prompted the review, especially in cases where students are already receiving substantial scholarships from other government schemes.
