This is a fretwork thimble holder. I have never seen or heard of anything like this but I like the look of it and decided to try it. It is cut from 1/2 inch oak and I used a #3 blade all the way through. The hinges were a challenge but worked out ok in the end. I am not sure I would try this one again but enjoyed it . It is always gives me statisfation to construct something.
