US winemakers going gangsta in a video coast to coast fight for 'spect. Sometimes sipping ain’t enough. Sometimes you gotta spit out some rhyme to defend your coast. While American wineries only gained worldwide recognition in the last few decades, the West Coast has already staked its claim as the OG’s (or Old Grapestas in this case) of the US wine industry. Chris Le Vine of Pennsylvania’s Grace Winery, is challenging California’s crown. Born with the perfect name for a vintner & rapper, Le Vine has teamed up with high caliber talent from Broadway Dreams Foundation in a medium known to be effective when proving one coast’s prowess over another. Twisting the words of California’s sweetheart, Tupac Shakur, into something more appealing to the East Coast palate, Le Vine and crew threw down the goblet. But California vintners are not leaving this bunch to rot. Le Vine is already rustling the leaves of West Coast rivals, Nello Olivo and Marco Capelli. Rancho Olivo has promised to holla back reppin’ the West in a response that will either put this war to rest, or call to arms oenophiles everywhere. February 11th, 2015, on what you thought was just another humpday, Bottlenotes.com and The Daily Sip® helped us kickoff what will go down in wine history as the Great Grapesta Rap Wars. We do not spite St. Valentine this week, however, as mad love goes out to the rappers who have passed and left us with this tradition. We give up our angel’s share and spill today’s sip for our homies.
