Fruit Soap: A natural alternative for chemical soap shampoo detergent using soap nut and shikakai. Hi friends, In these video I will show you how to make shampoo, soap or a detergent using fruits. Yes you have heard it right shampoo, soap or detergent using fruits. I am very glad that I have learnt this. So lets get started, let me show you how i do this. These are the two fruits which I am using to make the detergent. I will now soak them in water for a day. This first one is called Sikhakai and second one is areetha or reetha. These are grown on trees and then they are been dried in the sun and after drying this is how it looks. Both are dried. In foreign this is called soap-nut. In India we have different name in different states. In Telugu we call this a Kunkudkai. You can search on internet on soap-nut and sikhakai. If you peal this, there are seeds inside it, right now I will soak them in some 350 ml of water which I have taken. I will break them and then soak. This will be soak for a day. I am boiling this water for couple of minutes. This is boiled and now it is cooled. Lets remove the seeds from soap-nut and sikhakai. This is areetha. This is the seed from Areetha ie soap-nut. I am just putting is aside. This is the seed of sikhakai. Areetha is cleaning agent and sikhakai is softening agent. So you are mixing a cleaner and a conditioner. Shikakai acts as conditioner and areetha as a cleaner. I am just removing the seeds from it. Yes it is little bit time consuming, it is not as simple as tearing a sachet or opening a lid of shampoo bottle, it will take little time. If you practice it, it is not that time consuming. People want things faster, but if your focus is natural shampoo, then this best shampoo. So after removing the seeds, you just squeeze these fruits or nuts so that juice from it come out. Actually the juice from it acts as a shampoo or detergent. I start squeeze them so that I can make more concentrated shampoo. You can use this liquid for your bath, as a hair shampoo, for cleaning your house, mopping your house, washing your cloths, as hand wash, body shampoo. So this is multi-purpose cleaning liquid. You can also use as a shaving cream. Yes I do my shaving with this, I don't have to go with alcohol based cream or lotion. See as i keep squeezing, you can see the foam is getting collected. Actually this can also give good foam. I squeeze is for 5 mins time and then I use this liquid. Even though this is a natural shampoo, this is very powerful. You have to be careful so this don't go inside your eyes. You have to close your eyes while doing the hair shampoo. And that that this dose not go in sensitive parts of the body like if you have a cut(wound) in the body, be-careful that this liquid dose not go in the cut. It will burn. When you apply this on your hair, you may not see foam or complete cleaning in one go because this require soaking. In the first go you have to take a little bit of this liquid and apply it on your hair and keep it soak for couple of minutes. After soaking you have to rinse it with water and then you have to apply it again. Second time you can see some foam coming on your hair. If you apply lot of oil, may be you have to rinse it again and apply it third time. Third time you can see good foaming and good cleaning. So this requires soaking. Now shampoo is ready. I prepare his shampoo on a weekly basis and use that liquid. I put that liquid in a bottle and I use it for whole week. After couple of hours: I took bath, shampooed my hair, I have also shaved my beard, with the same detergent which I have prepared. The soap with is grown on trees.
