New England in the northeast of the United States is world renowned for it’s autumn foliage. With such a vast region and plenty to see and do, you might be looking for help figuring out where to go during the fall months. To help, in this video I give you what I consider to be the ultimate autumn road trip through New England which takes you to colorful mountainsides, to costal waterways, and New England’s cosmopolitan cities. As I mentioned in the video, here are the details of my suggested itinerary: Day 1: Boston Visit historical sites in Boston by walking the Freedom Trail. Do dinner in either Little Italy or at the Union Oyster House. Day 2: White Mountains/New Hampshire Drive north to the White Mountains in New Hampshire for leaf peeping and hiking. Stop along the way in Lexington/Concord, MA. Stay in a quaint New England town like Lyme, New Hampshire. Day 3: Stowe, Vermont Drive from New Hampshire to the ski resort of Stowe, Vermont. Leaf peep and enjoy finding iconic covered bridges. Stop at the Cold Hollow Cider Mill for cider doughnuts and fresh pressed apple cider. Day 4: Portland, Maine Make your way down the mountains to the Atlantic coast, stopping at the Ben and Jerry's factory along the way. Take the Kancamangus Highway for the scenic (but crowded route) or save time by taking the interstate instead. Enjoy sunset at the Portland Head Lighthouse, and have a nice dinner of clam chowder and lobster. Day 5: Return to Boston Make the drive back to Boston, stopping in Salem to explore it's witchy past. Enjoy the fun seasonal Halloween events in the town, and then make your way back to Boston. Head home, or continue your adventures elsewhere!
