In this video I’m sharing the way I learned to make Sunday sauce growing up — a simple Sicilian red sauce that slowly simmers on the stove and fills the whole kitchen with the smell of tomatoes, garlic, and herbs. When I was a little girl, my dad would have a giant pot of sauce simmering all afternoon. Years later, when I had my own place, I started making a smaller pot for myself on Sundays — sometimes with friends, sometimes just with a loaf of crusty bread and a glass of Chianti. This isn’t the Food Network version. It’s the old-school way I learned in my dad’s kitchen. Basic ingredients: • ground meat • onions & garlic • tomatoes (sauce, paste, crushed or whole) • oregano, basil, rosemary • a pinch of sugar to balance the acidity And the most important ingredient of all — patience. Stir, stir, stir. 🌿 Visit my website for recipes, kitchen stories, and seasonal inspiration: https://lifeinbiancaskitchen.com/ 📌 Follow along on Pinterest: / lifeinbiancaskitchen If this reminds you of someone’s kitchen you grew up in, I’d love to hear about it.
