In this video, we're racing against the clock! The city council is laying a new pavement right outside our house, and if we don't act fast, the municipal sewage connection point will be buried forever. It was a now-or-never situation, so with the help of a friend builder, we decided to dig a trench in our garage to connect our wastewater to the main sewage network. What we thought would be a tough but straightforward job turned into a major challenge when we hit a massive granite boulder directly in the path of our new pipe. It took us over two hours of back-breaking work to break it apart, but we weren't giving up! We also got to watch the incredible work being done by the council, with a front-row seat to the new pavement being laid. We even have footage of the local mayor inspecting the work! Ever the engineers, we couldn't resist checking if the new pavement had the necessary incline for proper drainage and went even further by calculating the volume flow of pluvial water in case of heavy rain. It was a crazy, last-minute project, but we're thrilled with the result. Watch to see if we managed to finish before the pavement was laid, and what it took to get the job done!
