Georgie Newbery shows you how to make and install a fifteen foot long foraged garland. It's mid December and it's full on foraged Christmas decorations season here. I've been making wreaths for a couple of weeks, and now the commissions come in to dress houses for special occasions. Join me today as I show you how I make a fifteen foot garland to dress a grand staircase. I show you how I work out how much material I'll need, which kinds of foliage and twiggery pokery (technical term,) I like to use, and how I put it all together. Then you'll see that it's all very well making the thing, but how am I going to transport it? A fifteen foot garland is a lot for a woman of five feet two inches to carry. Luckily Fabrizio is on hand to hold things in place while I tie them and soon we're all set. I just hope the kitten doesn't pull it all down before the cameras arrive! The list of material I use is: variegated holly bay tree berried ivy contorted willow monterey pine and the crab apples are a variety called red sentinel For pudging with dried stems grown specially and harvested in the summer I use: allium purple sensation honesty seed heads shoo fly or nicandra phisaloides dry grasses and limonium, or sea lavender Find my website here https://www.commonfarmflowers.com Order a recording of one of my festive online demos https://www.commonfarmflowers.com/col...
