“Vedaipom” - ‘En Maram En Uyir’ Campaign, in today’s context, is a much needed effort spear-headed by “Beyond Consciousness Foundation”. Unless your living under a rock, you should very aware of the Tamil Nadu drought of the year 2019. Especially “Chennai Water Scarcity” has been in the headlines for weeks now. To curb such crisis in the future, to restore GroundWater level, to make the City more Clean and Green and most importantly to get good rains, “Vedaipom” like campaigns are much needed. Meenakshi Matriculation Hr. Sec. School, in Mogappair was chosen for this great Initiative. Promoting awareness among the students - the future of our country was also made. Students took responsibilities of the trees in groups and were excited to grow the trees in their premises. Many well known personalities of Chennai,who are specialised in various fields and are also socially active, were invited for the event. Around 12 Delegates happily graced the event at the school premises. It was a common cause that united them all, that is “Vedaipom”, sapling plantation programme. The Guests were so elated being a part of such good social activities, setting an example to the student community. The Slogan “En Maram, En Uyir”, which on translating means, “My Tree is My Life” conveys a message with a deep meaning. Students when taught such good morals of conserving the Nature as their own self, at this tender age, will definitely turn out to be adults who knows to preserve and conserve nature. Mr. Vasanth Raj Guru, CEO - Hair And Beyond, was also one of the delegates who presided over this “Eco-Awareness” event. He congratulated the great initiative by Mr. SathyaNarayanan and his “Beyond Consciousness Foundation”. He also gave information on tree planting done in various countries by students, also in the Philippines and Bangladesh, its mandatory to plant 10 trees to graduate. He said though government doesn’t insist we should take up the responsibility in our shoulders to plant trees and protect our environment.
