The character of Alexis made her first appearance in the last episode of season one of "Dynasty" when she was called to testify against her ex-husband, Blake Carrington, in Ted Dinard's murder trial. The role had not been cast at the time the finale was shot, so model Maggie Wickman, purportedly a friend of executive producer Esther Shapiro's, actually played her in this scene. Joan Collins was cast during the hiatus and, as they say, the rest is history. The overly-dramatic reactions of the characters to Alexis' arrival in the courtroom is priceless.
