Do you want to try and cook this delicious national meal of Slovakia - Halušky with bryndza? Here is how you do it: WHAT *250g bryndza (Slovak salty sheep cheese with similar properties as Philadelphia) *3 potatoes *180g all purpose flour *1 egg 20g butter 50g bacon per serving *pinch of salt parsley HOW Cut potatoes into cubes and use blender to mix them to get a light potato smoothie (add a little bit of water if necessary) Add flour, egg and pinch of salt to potatoes and mix it well till it is thickens but make sure it does not get too dry (a little thicker than pancake batter) Cut the bacon into small cubes and fry it on pan Boil about 1,5l of water w/o any salt Use colander to push the potato batter through to the boiling water Well-done halusky will rise-up onto the water surface Use a strainer to get the well-done halusky from the water and put them to big enough bowl, because you will have to mix them with butter and bryndza after Mix halusky with butter and bryndza while they are still hot Serve with bacon (including about a spoonful of the bacon’s grease) or parsley on top Music: Little Idea from http://www.bensound.com - Thank you!
