Will Smith sends Southwood High students to movie with Shreveport ties

Actor Will Smith sent students from Southwood High School to the movie theater for free to preview his upcoming film, King Richard. This comes after the national attention Dads on Duty has garnered. The story of King Richard is about the father of Venus and Serena Williams, who was born in Shreveport and from Cedar Grove. Eighteen school buses carried close to 15 hundred Southwood students to movie theaters in Shreveport and Bossier Friday morning. King Richard's story will continue in the classroom. They will study the effect tennis has on the body, how to plot a diagram through a movie, and more. Dads on Duty plan to move to phase two of their program, bringing the alumni in to encourage the community to embrace the school.
