Willow is a 2019 film directed by Milcho Manchevski. It premiered at the Rome Film Festival and went on to play dozens of festivals, win awards at Raindance, Cinequest, Valencia, Fantasporto and Wellington, to break the theatrical and TV records in its native Macedonia. Three women, three stories. One medieval, two contemporary. Three women cope with tradition, loyalty, adoption and control over their bodies. With love and motherhood. They have not set out to change the world or society, but their struggle to become mothers makes them unlikely heroines.
