Pretty poor and unfocused America feature comedy, but mainly of interest for its cross-dressing themes. No reason to have a man dressed as a woman in story, though woman dressed as a man has a small role to play. Changing identities. Man riding on tram in U.S.A. Man reading newspaper as he sits on tram. Close up of advert: 'Flower Day. Remember Your Sweethearts, Wives and Mothers today with a bouquet. The Love Thy Neighbor League'. Man is bounced around in his seat. Man pulls handle to stop tram. He jumps off and asks driver to wait, to make sure he kicks a large rock in front of the tram wheel. He runs off. Cemetery with guard standing behind it. Our man hides behind a bush, looks shady and tilts his hand over his eyes. Guard or cop by sign stands up taller and rests his truncheon on sign. Man bumps into bush and looks worried. He approaches tram. He and conductor get on tram and it moves off. The glass door of a newspaper editor, 'Howe E. Lize, Editor, Morning Truth'. Our man, shielding something in his jacket backs away from door. Girl emerges from room and looks excited and pleased. She sees some beautiful flowers in a vase on a desk and moves to thank man. He holds his hand up modestly and hooks his thumbs into his waistcoat pleased with himself. She kisses him on the cheek. She picks up the roses and smells them. She picks out a card from the flowers. Close up of card - 'May Your Soul Rest in Peace' - man has stolen bunch of flowers from a cemetery. She throws flowers at man and he falls over. He reads card and clutches his hand to his face in realisation, aghast. The flowers which are lying all over him fall off. They are roses and lilies. He gets up and pleads, but girl who is sitting typing is not amused. Another scene. Big man has his hands round the neck of a little man who is smoking. He releases his hands and little man exhales a big puff of smoke. Big man removes the cigarette from the small man's mouth, points at cigarette, taps man on arm and indicates a sign on the wall behind him: 'No Smoking Please'. Big man now smokes the butt of the cigarette. Man enters room, other man throws things on floor and tells him, the janitor, to sweep them up. He undoes his apron to reveal a dustpan and brush. He sweeps the floor. (Presumably) female impersonator enters. She moves janitor out of way, sits and talks to woman typist. She motions unhappiness and taps her fan on her hands. (She really does look very strange). Man puts bug or something down neck of woman and leaves room. She starts jumping around in her chair and screaming. She jumps into arms of man and collapses in a faint in his arms. He pushes her off. She collapses onto a table stacked high with papers. The table collapses. She motions she wants to be helped up. When pulled up her skirt comes off to reveal spotty knickers. She runs off through door. She holds a newspaper round her waist, and runs off frightened by two men. Big man and little man strike a deal and shake hands. In a bar man spots that waiter who is sweet talking a woman looks like him. Men stand on either side of scene (presumably same actor playing the role). Man puts money in hand of other man. Waiter motions 'SHHH' off screen. The men have changed identities. A car arriving at the Workmens' Hall. Female reporter (dressed as man) looks out of window and gets out of cab. She tells cab to move on. Film contains man dressed as woman and woman dressed as man, cross dressing and switched identities. Girl sitting at table approached gingerly by two other men, bigger man with cigarette in his hand. He pulls big gun on girl. Girl is kidnapped and shut in a cage. She immediately pushes door and little man falls over. Five cops walk down stairs. They are directed where to go by senior cop. Dancing in dancehall of working mens' club. Policeman looks at clock reading 12 o'clock. Close up of clock face. Barman hits bar with mallet. Man approaches bell with notice 'Press this on Sunday'. Perhaps a sort of speakeasy. Barman counts down and pulls day off calendar from April 1st to April 2nd. Man pushes button - large hoarding appears - 'intermission till Monday'. He rings a large triangle - the tables are literally turned from gambling to book reading. Men take off hats.
