Its Headquarter is located at Lower New Colony, Shillong, Meghalaya. It operates a Hydroelectric Power Station in Yazali known as Panyor Lower Hydroelectric Power Station (PLHPS) in Yazali, Arunachal Pradesh, or the Ranganadi Hydroelectric Project. Situated in the serene Keyi Panyor district, this project harnesses the power of the Ranganadi River (Panyor River) and is a significant contributor to the energy needs of the northeastern region of India. The facility has an installed capacity of 405 MW, generated by three units of 135 MW each, making it one of the major hydroelectric projects in the state. The power station is crucial for promoting renewable energy and supporting regional development by providing electricity and fostering economic growth. The project area, surrounded by lush forests and hills, is also an example of eco-friendly power generation, ensuring minimal environmental impact while maximizing efficiency. NEEPCO’s efforts in Yazali contribute not only to energy production but also to employment and infrastructure development in the region, highlighting its role in sustainable progress. Credit: 1.
