At 20 years old, Tim Young suffered a devastating accident on a snowboard that left him confined to a wheelchair. Despite this, Tim earned his master’s degree through the advent of online study. This gave rise to Tim’s passion for online education and educational games. If people have the motivation, giving them access to online education can enable them to achieve their goals. What will these technologies mean for the future? If people can access education from any and every part of the world, how will this change lives? His Master’s thesis compared the effectiveness of online learning to face-to-face learning. During his Post-Graduate Certificate, he got involved in the Global Learning XPRIZE, a competition that challenges teams globally to create open-source software that will enable children to teach themselves basic academic skills such as reading, writing and math. https://tedxruakura.com/timothy-james...
