Big Bear Eagle Cam ~ Sub Adult's Multiple Visits ~ Mom & Stormy Chase off 5.29.18

There is a 3 year old sub adult that has been coming to the nest frequently for the past couple of days. Mrs. BB arrives with a piece of fish in her talons and the SA lands in the tree to the left. Mrs. BB vocals her warning regarding the food but eats on the nest. She takes it with her and departs to the left and the SA flies off following her. The SA returns to the nest and looks for any food left over & moves some sticks before Mrs. BB returns and he flies off. He circles the area and lands on the branch to the left. Mrs. BB again chases him off & she returns to her branch before flying off. SA arrives again on her branch and drops to the nest again moving sticks & hops to the branch on the left. This time Stormy arrives from the right and chases the SA out of the tree. This SA is not threatening to Stormy nor is he aggressive. He is simply looking for food and has found that this tree with Stormy and Mrs. BB provides an opportunity. The SA is a beautiful eagle and seems very comfortable in this nest tree and may be a past offspring of Ricky & Lucy (prior eagle couple) or may be totally unrelated. Thank you for watching!
