Kohler Courage SV530 Governor Replacement

Will the Kohler Courage SV530 live to run again? Have a look as I replace the governor gear and re-assemble the engine. It was pretty easy to get the governor gear as there are plenty of them available it seems. However, the cover plate gasket was another story. Several places I tried to source the gasket reported that Kohler Engines list it as 'no longer available'. Kind of scary, but I did find a supplier on Amazon and they offered the gasket in a pack of 2. Not sure I'll ever need 2 gaskets but I ordered it and then when I checked the other day even that site listed the gasket as 'not currently available'. Everything went together pretty well and all-in-all the repair was pretty straight forward. Check out to see if the engine started and most important, could the speed of the engine be controlled?
