The 7-minute workout is the ideal way to get fit: It’s fast, efficient and fun. Developed by exercise physiologist Chris Jordan more than a decade ago, it became a phenomenon, introducing millions to the benefits of brief, intense interval training. Since then, the workout and similar routines have repeatedly been shown by researchers to rapidly improve endurance and health, despite their brevity. The 7-minute workout features 30 seconds of familiar calisthenics — exercises that use your own body weight, such as jumping jacks and push-ups — capped with five seconds of rest.
