So here's some background on this game as it pertains to me. I rented this game like 20 years ago for a couple days and all I could remember about it is how impossible it was. The controls, jumping specifically, are either a complete debacle or total genius. Every jump is a life threatening event and that makes for some gut wrenching platforming. This is the type of game where you might end up throwing your controller. However, armed with the distant knowledge of how this game feels it allowed me to rise above and just plow through the levels. Some levels are a nightmare but can be avoided by proper route planning, as some levels have two exits. There is also a feature called big mode, which is a zoomed in side scrolling version of the game that always ends with a battle against a "life size" predator. The big mode levels also act as a continue point. If you plan a proper route you can actually skip large portions of this game as well. I took the harder approach on beating the final boss by standing on the floating stone rather than move all the way to the right side of the screen. By this time in the game jumping was second nature and not so scary.
