Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) surgeon Dr. Rasheed Fakhri fled his country during the Iraq War. For the last 17 years, he has been working at MSF's reconstructive surgery project in Amman, Jordan, treating people from Iraq who have been impacted by the war. “I lived through 17 years of stories," says Dr. Fakhri. "Stories that range from children scarred by terrorism to innocent victims of bombings, and those who lost their ability to speak or lost their sight. But thankfully we’ve helped them on their path to recovery. This is a source of pride for us.” Make sure you don’t miss weekly video updates and ongoing series about our work in crisis zones across the world.
