In August 2025, media records indicate Melodee briefly enrolled in a local independent study program, but her prolonged absence soon triggered concern and a review by the Lompoc Unified School District (USA Today). On October 7, 2025, surveillance at a Lompoc car rental agency captured Melodee wearing a gray hoodie and a dark wig, an apparent attempt at disguise.
