There have been many versions of the Sherman tank, including one which fired APFSDS -the M-60. Some may know the 60mm HVMS better as the gun used by the AUBL/74 HVG in War Thunder, however this vehicle was only a prototype. The M-60 Sherman was a Chilean modification of the Super Sherman, fitted with the Israeli-Italian 60mm High Velocity Medium Support gun, being able to fire APFSDS. While not as powerful as other APFSDS rounds of the 1980s, it was more than sufficient in South America, where the most heavily armoured tanks in service at the time were T-55s. A small calibre APFSDS capable gun with relatively small cartridges was therefore a good fit for upgrading Chilean tanks. The penetrator's nose and tail shape have been approximated for the simulation, with the resulting penetrator matching experimental performance of the round.
