Røros is a mystical town tacked away in the midlands of Norway. The history of this town is closely intertwined with copper mining which defined this part of Norway since the 17th century. Røros has been a town coveted by many and Sweden has attacked and burned down the town on at least two occasions. [1679 & 1718] Røros and its people were made famous to Norwegians at the turn of the 20th century by semi-fictional author Johan Falkberget, who told the story of the mining community from the perspective of the hard tested miners at the bottom of the social ladder. With its authentic wooden buildings, Røros was added to the UNESCO World Heritage Site list in 1980. The star attention in Røros is the giant 200 year old church which dorminates the city's landscape. This video was recorded on site over 3 days [ Easter weekend].
