Art of the City is a documentary entertainment series where gallerist, philanthropist, and San Diego hometown girl Ruth-Ann Thorn travels around the country spotlighting artists who create the fabric and lifeblood of the city’s cultural community. Host Ruth-Ann Thorn transitions from her sole role as uber-successful…… As the principal of Solana Beach-based EC Gallery, Ruth-Ann Thorn is that exceptional chameleon: Native American woman, art dealer, curator, Artist agent, and documentary filmmaker and celebrity host. With over 30 years of experience in the Fine Art world, Thorn is world-renowned for discovering artists and quite successfully bringing them to market prominence. Throughout her career, Thorn discovered many notable artists, among them Michael Flohr, Henry Asencio, Chuck Joseph, and Michael Summers. Her efforts have not only earned them all great art-centric recognition; the awareness has resulted in international acclaim for Artist and Gallerist. Thorn has now expanded her reach to bring exposure to artists In a docuseries entitled Ruth-Ann Thorn Presents Art of the City in which she profiled San Diego Artists, as well as traveled to cities across the United States interviewing internationally acclaimed artists who have resided in that city for 20 years or more. The premise behind the series is geo-locality and the nuance and flavor captured by the local Artists…. all of whom are “hometown”. From San Diego, to New Orleans To Austin to Savannah to LA and NYC. This series will reveal the flavor of each respective city via a never-before captured lens: allowing Ms. Thorn and the Artist to experience the essence of so much of the city. As an historian captures history, and a travel guide landmarks, and the chef local culinary flavors: Ruth-Ann Thorn marries them all…and through the Artists’ works.
