Racing2Learn: Broken ECX Ruckus Plastic Axles, How To Swap In Slash Driveshafts

We've broken a number of these plastic driveshafts in our Ruckus, our Slash, and our E-Maxx. Manufacturers use these plastic driveshafts instead of steel to keep costs down. They're adequate for lower-powered vehicles with brushed motors and/or Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) batteries, but once you start running brushless motors and lithium polymer (Lipo) batteries, they start breaking. A popular solution is to swap in heavier duty units, either from the Slash 2WD or the Slash 4x4. There are also a plethora of heavy aftermarket steel driveshafts from Pro-Line, Tekno, and others. The nice thing is that with a little modification, driveshafts made for the Slash 2WD can be fitted to the ECX Ruckus and ECX Torment.
