Come parte del programma internazionale Neo Norte 5.0, nel contesto della Biennale di Venezia "Stranieri Ovunque," la prima Biennale con un curatore proveniente dal Global South (Adriano Pedrosa), l'azione d'arte relazionale ha aperto uno spazio per individui interessati a conoscere meglio la scena artistica dell'America Latina e dei Caraibi. La performance di Neo Norte 5.0 a Venezia usa la forma del triangolo, facendo riferimento non soltanto alla forma triangolare dei continenti del “Global South”, come l'America Latina e l'Africa, e come le pelvi femminili; ma anche al “commercio triangolare” coloniale, dove la merce era trasportata dall' Europa all' Africa, e dove gli schiavi africani erano deportati in America, per lavorare nelle piantagioni, i cui prodotti venivano esportati in Europa. Durante la performance, il triangolo viene liberato e diventa un cerchio, tramite l' azione di lavare, facendo un riferimento all’acqua fondamentale per la mobilità della città di Venezia. Il cerchio è anche la forma geometrica rappresentativa della cosmologia andina e altri popoli precolombiani ed invita a riparare il tessuto sociale attraverso la condivisione circolare e non triangolare o gerarchica. La azione di arte relazionale di Neo Norte in Venezia, invitavo a scrivere sopra tessuto riciclato qual è il valore offre il Sud Globale per affrontare le sfide del secolo XXI. Neo Norte è un progetto che cerca di cambiare la percezione che noi, abbiamo del Sud Globale e vedere tutta la sua potenzialità. As part of the Neo Norte 5.0’s international programme, in the context of the Venice Biennale "Stranieri Ovunque," the first Biennale with a curator from the Global South (Adriano Pedrosa), the Act of Relational Art has opened a space for individuals interested in getting to know more Latin America and the Caribbean artistic scene. Neo Norte 5.0 Performance in Venice uses the shape of the triangle, referencing not only the triangular shape of the continents of the "Global South," such as Latin America and Africa, and the female pelvis; but also the colonial "triangular trade," where goods were transported from Europe to Africa, African slaves were deported to America to work on plantations, whose products were exported to Europe. During the performance, the triangle is liberated and becomes a circle through the action of washing, making a reference to water, which is fundamental to the mobility of the city of Venice. The circle is also the geometric shape representative of the Andean cosmology and other pre-Columbian tribes and invites to mend the social fabric through a circular and not triangular or hierarchical collaboration. The act of relational art of Neo Norte in Venice invited people to write on recycled fabric what value offers the Global South to face the challenges of the 21st century. Neo Norte is a project that seeks to change the perception we have of the Global South and to see all its potential.
